About the map

Nacht der Untoten (“Night of the Undead”) is where round-based Zombies started. Treyarch tucked it into Call of Duty: World at War in 2008 as a bonus that unlocked after the campaign: four soldiers, a bombed-out bunker, and waves of the undead that only ever get bigger and tougher. There is no power switch, no perk machines and no Pack-a-Punch. You have points, boards, a few wall weapons, the Mystery Box and whatever you can hold.

The bunker is small. You start in one room with windows on every side, buy your way into the Help room, then open the stairs to the upper floor and the sniper cabinet. Wall buys are the original list at the prices from the game’s own table: Kar98k (200), M1A1 Carbine (600), Thompson (1200), double-barreled shotgun (1200), Trench Gun (1500), BAR (1800) and grenades (250). The scoped Kar98k costs more the first time the cabinet opens. The field guide maps every window, wall buy and the box.

How it plays here

This browser edition rebuilds the map from the original game data: the same layout, zombie counts per round, health scaling, movement mix, power-up drops and weapon stats. Pick Classic and it plays one to one with World at War, HUD included, with its own ranked leaderboards. Pick Enhanced for modern extras: hitmarkers, playable characters, world pings, camos and a wardrobe, plus optional Perk-a-Colas and Pack-a-Punch in the bunker. Both run in the same tab, with nothing to install.

Co-op works the way you would expect from a modern game: Quick Play into a public squad, host your own and send the invite link, or paste a friend’s link. Up to four players share one room with voice chat (push to talk or open mic) in the lobby and in the game. A weekly challenge board and a Classic solo top 10 give you something to chase between sessions.

It runs on anything with Chrome, Edge or Firefox and WebGL 2, including school and work Chromebooks: choose the Low graphics tier if the frame rate dips. Controllers work too, with real button prompts. Phones and tablets get a handoff page instead, because the game needs a keyboard and mouse or a controller.

Controls

Every key can be remapped in Settings, and a controller takes over the moment you press a button on it.

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. There is nothing to buy, no account is required and nothing installs. Signing in with a passkey, Discord or Google is optional and only keeps your level, stats and unlocks across devices.

Does it run on a Chromebook?

Yes. Open it in Chrome, pick the Low graphics tier if it stutters, and plug in a mouse if you can. The first visit downloads a little over a hundred megabytes; your browser keeps it, so later visits load in seconds.

Can I play with friends?

Yes, up to four players in one squad. Host a game, copy the invite link and send it; everyone needs their own computer and browser. Voice chat is built in.

Is this the official game?

No. It is a fan-made remake. Call of Duty, World at War and Nacht der Untoten belong to Activision and Treyarch; this project is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.
